Can polar regions be useful in space research?

Answering this question was the aim of Polar4Space meeting organized jointly by the forScience Foundation and Telemetrica at the Institute of Tourism, Warsaw School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, on 30 January 2015.

The meeting was attended by 27 people from the world of science and business and the 21 presentations they delivered dealt with the possibility of joining polar and space research.

Permanent and seasonal Polish polar research stations operating in both the Arctic and the Antarctic provide excellent logistics infrastructure for the implementation of scientific projects. The available facilities as well as extreme environmental conditions characteristic for polar regions give scientists an opportunity to thoroughly and rigorously test innovative technologies.
